News and notes from around the league.

NBA basketball is here with two great games tonight. We have the Clippers vs Lakers and the Pelicans vs the Raptors. No Zion for the Pels, so I’d expect the Raptors to take this one. Even without Paul George, the Clippers still have a fighting chance. I’d call it a Clippers win.⠀

DFS – I really like Fred VanVleet tonight as a value play. He is rather cheaply priced, and should be in line for a strong workload.⠀
Kyrie Irving makes his long-awaited return tonight! He started off the year with a BANG and even though Dinwiddie has filled in admirably for him, the Nets need Kyrie back to sneak into the playoffs. Expect him to be on some sort of minutes restriction for a while as the Nets make a run for the playoffs.

WOOOOO. It’s gonna be a show tonight in NOLA. Zion Williamson is one of the most hyped prospects of the past decades, and it’s finally time for him to make his regular season debut.⠀

PROJECTION – Zion will be playing “short, consecutive minutes” tonight according to Alvin Gentry. Lemme tell you, the minute Zion steps on the floor, the Smoothie King Center will be ROCKING. I don’t know how to value him for DFS, he’s either going to go for 10 and 10, or like 5 and 7. I don’t think he’s the best of plays tonight, BUT, I’m excited to see what Zion can do. ⠀

REST OF SEASON – This entirely depends on the direction that the Pelicans season goes. If they fall out of playoff contention, I expect them to take extra caution with Zion, like minutes restrictions and load management. If they stay in the hunt, Zion could be a double double a night type player, with his ceiling being a top-75 fantasy asset.⠀
Tonight ESPN airs the Jordan Doc that everyone’s been talking about. Are you going to tune in?
